Many of us lead hectic, stressful lives. We often don’t have a good plan to handle the stress this lifestyle brings. When stress builds, it can often lead to displaying a shortness with our response. It may also lead to a demonstration of anger or frustration. Sadly, this behavior is often displayed to those closest to us.
Try setting aside at least two minutes a day to focus on your breath. One minute in the morning and one minute in the afternoon. Stop and take deep breaths. Focus on your breath all the way down to your core, hold it and then let it go. Keep your mind focused on only your breath throughout these two minutes. Feel the stress dissipate with this exercise. You may find yourself more productive. If so, try increasing the allocated time in your day for mindfulness. It’s great for reducing stress and it is great for your health.
